On the first of August 2019 a law was passed in the Netherlands banning face covering in “public“ spaces. Such as “public“ transportation, in government buildings and at health and education institutions.

These street interventions are a reaction to that ban reproducing dutch masterpieces that visually suggest to Niqab. In hopes to suggest reflection, shame and anger against this ban targetting a group of people by using objects of national pride.
